Mzansi Political Safari is a South African digital news publication focused on politics, government, elections, public policy and related civic affairs. The publication aims to provide readers with clear, factual and accessible reporting on developments that affect South Africa.

Our publication

Mzansi Political Safari is published by Kelsper Media, a division of Kelsper Group (Pty) Ltd, and operates online at politicalsafari.co.za.

Our primary focus is South African political news, including national government, Parliament, political parties, provincial politics, local government, elections and other matters of public interest.

Our editorial approach

Our news reporting is produced in a neutral, fact-focused style. We distinguish news from opinion, analysis, sponsored content and other non-news material, and we aim to attribute political claims and contested statements to the people or organisations making them.

We seek to verify material before publication, use primary or authoritative sources where practicable, and correct significant errors transparently when they are identified.

Ownership and funding

Mzansi Political Safari is part of Kelsper Media, a division of Kelsper Group (Pty) Ltd. The publication is currently funded directly by its owner. It does not depend on a political party, candidate or government department for its operating funding.

Investigative journalism

Mzansi Political Safari does not currently operate a dedicated investigative journalism desk and is not presently conducting long-term investigative projects. We may report on investigations carried out by public bodies, courts, commissions, other news organisations or civil-society organisations where the information can be independently sourced and appropriately attributed.

If the publication establishes a dedicated investigative function in future, our source-protection, security and investigative standards will be reviewed and expanded accordingly.

Technology and artificial intelligence

Technology, including artificial intelligence tools, may be used to support parts of the newsroom and publishing workflow. Such tools are not treated as independent sources. Accountability

Readers may contact us about factual errors, concerns or complaints. Material corrections are handled under our Corrections & Complaints Policy.
