Ownership
Mzansi Political Safari is published by Kelsper Media, a division of Kelsper Group (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2023/530502/07). The publication operates online at politicalsafari.co.za.
Funding
The publication is currently funded directly by its owner. At the date of this policy, operating funding does not come from a political party, candidate or government department.
Future revenue
Mzansi Political Safari may in future earn revenue from advertising, sponsorship, subscriptions, syndication, commercial partnerships or other lawful media activities. Where such arrangements are introduced, they will not entitle funders, advertisers or commercial partners to dictate ordinary news coverage.
Editorial independence
- Political actors do not receive favourable coverage in exchange for access, payment or other benefits.
- Advertisers and sponsors do not receive approval rights over independent editorial coverage unless content is clearly commissioned and labelled as commercial material.
- Material conflicts of interest should be disclosed to the editor and, where relevant to a reader’s understanding, in the published content.
- News, opinion, advertising and sponsored content should be visually or textually distinguishable.
Transparency about material support
If a third party provides material support for a specific journalism project, event, series or content initiative in future, Mzansi Political Safari will disclose that support where it could reasonably affect a reader’s understanding of the work.
Changes
This page will be updated if the ownership structure, principal source of funding or editorial-control arrangements materially change.
