Corrections & Complaints

Last updated: 25 August 2026

Mzansi Political Safari aims to correct significant factual errors promptly and to provide readers and subjects of coverage with a clear way to raise editorial concerns.

How to request a correction

Send correction requests to editorial@politicalsafari.co.za. To help us assess the matter efficiently, please include:

  • the headline and web address of the article concerned;
  • the date of publication, if known;
  • the specific statement you believe is inaccurate or unfair;
  • the correction you believe is required; and
  • supporting documents, links or other evidence where available.

How we handle corrections

We assess complaints against the published material and the information reasonably available to us. Where a material factual error is confirmed, the article will be corrected as soon as reasonably practicable.

Depending on the circumstances, we may use one of the following labels:

  • Update: new information has been added without correcting an earlier error.
  • Clarification: wording has been amended to make the original meaning clearer or prevent a reasonable misunderstanding.
  • Correction: a material factual error has been corrected.
  • Editor’s note: additional editorial context is necessary to explain a significant change or dispute.
  • Retraction: the publication no longer stands by the central substance of the article.

Minor typographical, formatting or grammatical changes that do not alter meaning may be made without a correction note.

Complaints about fairness or conduct

A complaint may also concern fairness, attribution, privacy, the handling of a response, a headline, image use or another aspect of our editorial standards. We will consider the complaint in context and may request additional information from the complainant or the journalist/editor involved.

Response and escalation

We aim to acknowledge substantive complaints within a reasonable period and to resolve them as promptly as the circumstances permit. Complex complaints may require additional review.

If you are dissatisfied with the initial outcome, you may ask for the matter to be reviewed by the editor or another person within Kelsper Media who was not primarily responsible for the disputed decision, where practicable.

Press Council status

Mzansi Political Safari does not represent itself on this page as a subscriber publication of the Press Council of South Africa unless and until such membership has been formally confirmed. If the publication becomes a subscriber, this page will be updated with the applicable external complaints process and required information.

Good-faith complaints

We welcome good-faith efforts to improve the accuracy of our journalism. Abusive, threatening, fraudulent, clearly vexatious or repetitive communications may be restricted, while legitimate factual issues raised within them will still be considered where practicable.
