THOHOYANDOU, Saturday 25 July 2026 — The Economic Freedom Fighters launched its 2026 local government election manifesto in Limpopo and announced candidates it intends to put forward for mayoral positions in several major municipalities.
The launch at Thohoyandou Stadium coincided with the EFF’s 13th anniversary. Party leader Julius Malema presented commitments covering employment, water, electricity, municipal services and local economic development.
The party named Tlaleng Mofokeng for Johannesburg, Omphile Maotwe for Tshwane, Hlengiwe Mkhaliphi for eThekwini, Nthabiseng Tshivhenga for Ekurhuleni and Nontando Nolutshungu for Cape Town, among candidates for other municipalities.
The EFF will contest the 4 November elections against the ANC, DA, MK Party and other national and local formations.
