JOHANNESBURG, Thursday 18 June 2026 — The uMkhonto weSizwe Party expelled Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla and Nhlamulo Ndhlela with immediate effect, citing what it described as repeated breaches of organisational discipline.
MK Party officials accused Zuma-Sambudla of publicly challenging leadership decisions and promoting factional positions, while Ndhlela was accused of communicating on party matters without proper authority. The claims formed part of the party’s stated reasons for terminating their membership.
Zuma-Sambudla is the daughter of MK Party president Jacob Zuma and had previously served as a member of the National Assembly. Ndhlela had served as the party’s national spokesperson.
The expulsions added to a series of internal leadership changes in the MK Party as political parties prepared for the November municipal elections.
